- Elul
Project revived
Two years ago, Rabbi Dan Greyber encouraged
us to spend the introspective month of Elul
(started today) reflecting on our spiritual
lives. We have revived his Elul project for
this year, in part to introduce our congregation
to our new shliach tzibbur David Singer. The
Elul project is a pre-holiday writing project.
We ask you to take a few moments to write a
reflection that relates to the High Holiday
season. In Rabbi Greyber’s words, “It can be
a remembrance, a teaching, a story; it can be
a reflection about family, about community,
about Israel or Torah, or what being Jewish
means to you; it can contain comments about
humanity, prayer, God, children, holidays. We
ask you to share a thought, a small piece of
yourself, with us. Your written piece can be
as short as a few sentences or as long as one
page. Please e-mail your project piece by September
1, 2010 to Eric Mack at ericjmack@gmail.com.
We will compile the pieces together into a booklet
to be made available at services. Contributions
can be kept anonymous if you wish.
